Chapter History

In 1925 Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc. felt the need to expand its glorious purpose to yet another college campus (another Historically Black College). Thus chartering the first and only single letter chapter in the state of Alabama, on the beautiful campus of Miles College. This chapter is better known as the "Crazy SIGMA" chapter.  This chapter was the first fraternity to make its presence known on the campus of Miles College and was almost the first to go extinct.  As our country took park in WWII, it also took the majority of our sigma brother to defend their country which left only a few to keep our cause speeding nobly on its way.  In 1942 the "Crazy SIGMA" chapter was reborn and returned to claim their title as "Rulers Of The Yard".  Now The "Crazy SIGMA" chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc. is standing many brothers strong with no intentions of stopping.

With the guidance of graduate chapter Tau Sigma and support of undergraduate chapter Eta Epsilon, of the University of Alabama at Birmingham, the "Crazy SIGMA" chapter is making a impact on the Birmingham community in the name of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc.  Although we're known as the "Crazy Sigma" Chapter we still strive to uphold the principles of Phi Beta Sigma and also hold true to our fraternity motto
